Addicted to Stress??

Updated: Sep 9, 2019

Yes, there are studies that we can actually become addicted to stress. We teach our brains that we like the "rush" of being under deadline for that new assignment and eventually want more and more stress.

Of course, there is such a thing as "good" stress. We need a push to get things done, but if we are under pressure 24/7 that is "bad" stress. We need to find an outlet or our bodies will be the outlet with any of a myriad of diseases and problems. Sometimes just a walk in the park, or outdoors. Feeding the pigeons if you are in the city; or feeding the sheep if you are in the country can lower the stress levels. Read a book, say a prayer, meditate; whatever floats your boat is ok, as long as it calms you.
