We hear a lot about people's feelings these days. Feelings of love and happiness are sure great, but we also know we have to take the good with the bad and sometimes that doesn't feel so great. Or are you one of those who want to eliminate all the bad feelings and just have good feelings? It's not possible, so don't even try.
However, there is a good way to live life that makes it much more enjoyable. What is that you say? Do what is the right thing to do and let your feelings follow. Sometimes someone will ask if we have time for a talk. People are valuable and so we should make every effort to find some time for that talk with them; especially if they are lonely or hurting. It's the right thing to do and amazingly, afterward you will feel good about yourself. Maybe someone needs some help battening up the house before the storm. You have a ton of things to do for yourself, but you also find time to help them. It's the right thing to do and again, you will feel good about yourself afterward. You will even have some good "feelings."
If you only work on what your feelings tell you to do, you might be setting yourself up for a lifetime of hurt and pain. If you set yourself upon doing what is right despite your initial feelings, you will have a much more successful, fulfilled and happy life.
